James Sporleder
James is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background and robust professional network who values collaborative and out-of-the-box thinking.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the security industry, James has a unique background in specialized captivity survival and was responsible for training some of the most elite units in the U.S. Department of Defense. He’s a nationally recognized subject matter expert in the repatriation of U.S. Servicemen and women, and helped bring home such returnees as Chief Warrant Officer Mike Durrant, Somalia, 1993; Captain Scott O’Grady, Bosnia/Herzegovina, 1995, as well as directed repatriation operations for the return and debrief of 24 U.S. Navy crew members detained in the People’s Republic of China in 2001.
James has worked in the private sector for more than 20 years collaborating with more than 50 percent of Fortune 100 companies addressing the challenges surrounding interpersonal violence. In that time, he’s also held a wide array of executive officer positions as well as started and grown several companies of his own.
As Chief Strategy Officer at Clear Legacy, James is leveraging his collective experience to develop a strong, values-aligned team and to chart a course for mission clarity and company success. He’s responsible for providing strategic direction, driving business development, as well as monitoring and evaluating company operations.
James is an active member of ASIS International, The Society for Human Resource Management, and the National Anger Management Association, where he’s credentialed in Behavioral Crisis Intervention and Anger Management.
